Shelf in Poplar

This project came to me from an existing client, who wanted somewhere to store her expanding CD collection! She wanted simple shapes that echoed some existing profiles in the room, so I created this gently curved unit for her.

I'm so pleased poplar is being heralded in its natural tones in this piece - often it is painted over but I love the contrast of the olive heartwood and the creamier sapwood next to each other.

A lovely piece to make, and the client is thrilled with it.
